About the Item

Full-blown white roses crowd the picture plane, painted with loaded, buttery strokes so each bloom reads as a mass of impasto-like white touches over soft grey shadow. Behind them the ground dissolves into scumbled olive, ochre and oxblood, with a suggestion of a table edge and a picture frame in the upper left. The handling is loose and painterly, the palette warm and low-key apart from the brilliant whites, and the image is signed in white script at the lower right. Presented under glass with a wide white mat and a thin black inner mat. Medium: offset/giclee reproduction print on paper. Signed lower right, within the image, in white script. Condition: No visible damage to the sheet. Heavy reflections and a ceiling-light hotspot on the glass in several frames obscure the surface; the mat is clean.
