About the Item
Audrey Salkind. A tall unframed canvas dominated by a broad upper mass of crimson, raspberry and oxblood laid in wide flat strokes, some scraped back to reveal the weave. Across the centre a horizontal band of cobalt blue, chalk white and dark plum breaks the red like a distant shoreline, with two short blue dashes set as a deliberate counter-accent. The lower third opens into pale cream and blush, streaked by drips and a rust-red vertical that bleeds downward. Handling is loose and palette-knife flat rather than impasto, and the sides of the stretcher are painted, so it hangs unframed. Medium: acrylic on canvas. Signed lower right of the canvas face, in thin grey-blue line, reading "Audrey Salkind". Condition: No tears, punctures or flaking visible. Surface shows a satin sheen and camera flare in the raking shots; the canvas edges are clean.
