About the Item
A large square gallery-wrapped canvas built from broad blocks of deep crimson and burgundy set against creamy off-white and pale grey grounds. A central passage of magenta, violet and orange is pulled through with thin dragged lines and scraped edges, and a vertical ribbon of orange runs down the left. The paint is applied thinly and dry-brushed so the weave shows through, with soft feathered boundaries rather than hard edges; the painted image continues around the sides of the stretcher. Medium: acrylic or oil on canvas. Signed top edge of the canvas (turnover edge), centre, reading "Audrey Salkind". Condition: No visible damage; surface reads as clean with light handling marks on the canvas edges. Photographed leaning on a tiled floor, so the lower edge is not fully visible.
