About the Item

A flowing horizontal composition of blooms that dissolve into human profiles and half-hidden faces, drawn with fine black contour lines over freely bled washes. Colour moves diagonally from hot orange and crimson at the left through magenta and gold to green, turquoise and deep blue at the right, all floating on a cream ground. A pale bird-like form sits at the lower centre, and the handling is deliberately liquid, with feathered and blotted edges. Medium: colour lithograph on paper. Signed lower centre of the sheet, in ink, reading "E.A.". Edition: E.A. (epreuve d'artiste / artist's proof). Inscribed on the reverse or mount: E.A.. Condition: Strong point-source reflections on the glazing; no tears, foxing or discolouration visible through the glass.
