Chinese Print Proud Lady with Child and Pine, Ling Fu-Yang, Signed, Framed

About the Item

Ling Fu-Yang. A delicate Chinese-style composition: a slender lady in a pale robe with blue ribbon sashes carries a lacquer tray of tea things past a massive gnarled pine, while a small child in an orange jacket and grey trousers runs after her. Behind them a low railing and a thatched pavilion dissolve into misty grey wash, and the ground is suggested with soft dry-brush strokes and a few dark rocks. The palette is muted - dove grey, pale celadon, ivory and a single warm orange accent. A brush-written inscription and seal sit at the upper left of the image. Medium: colour reproduction print (collotype/photolithograph) after a watercolour. Signed below the image, lower right, reading "Ling Fu-Yang". Inscribed on the reverse or mount: Proud; Ling Fu-Yang. Condition: Mat and sheet toned overall; a round red sale sticker is stuck to the glass at lower right; heavy reflections on the glass.
