Barbara A. Wood. A young blonde woman is shown in three-quarter view, her face lowered under a wide black hat trimmed with a red band and a small red flower, a scarlet scarf at her throat and a heavy dark wrap pulled around her shoulders. The handling imitates chalk and pastel, with dense scribbled hatching in charcoal grey, mauve and pale blue behind her and thick dark scumbling in the coat. The palette is smoky and cool apart from the two hot reds. Signed in the image in red and again in pencil on the paper margin below. Medium: colour lithograph on paper, pencil signed and numbered. Signed in the image lower right in red, and in pencil on the margin below the image, reading "Barbara A. Wood". Inscribed on the reverse or mount: Barbara A. Wood. Condition: Mat and sheet look clean with faint scattered specks on the mat; heavy glare from the glazing in every shot. No tears or waviness visible.
