· late 20th century

About the Item
A quiet, decorative collage built from torn and cut handmade papers: slender vertical canes in honey, khaki and charcoal rise across a mottled ivory ground, while a bank of broad, veined leaves in sage green and grey-blue spreads across the lower half. The surface is matte and fibrous, with visible deckled paper edges and pressed plant material, and the tonal range stays deliberately soft. It is floated on a pale sage mat with a gold slip, in a moulded gilt frame under glass. Medium: collage of handmade papers and pressed leaves on paper. Signed lower right of the sheet, reading "Caso". Inscribed on the reverse or mount: Caso (signed in pencil, lower right; could also read Casa, Casas or Casey). Condition: Glass glare across the upper left; the paper is lightly rippled, which is normal for handmade stock. No tears or staining visible.
