About the Item
A warm, palette-knife landscape of a stone cottage whose facade is smothered in scarlet and gold climbing blossom, a blue-shuttered door and window at its centre. A small round table with two chairs sits in the dappled shade at the foot of the wall, while a broad path of cream and yellow strokes leads the eye past banks of red, white and yellow flowers to a pale distant house and misty hills. The paint is applied in short, loaded strokes with visible knife ridges, giving the whole surface a glittering broken texture. The canvas is gallery-wrapped and unframed. Medium: oil on canvas. Condition: Thick knife-applied paint intact with no cracking or losses; canvas edges clean and painted over. No visible damage.
