About the Item
A square canvas of interlocking angular planes in blocked red, ochre-yellow, black and sage green, laid over a mottled turquoise and olive ground. A large dark-green leaf shape flecked with acid yellow sweeps across the lower centre; above it, scratched white lines fan out like rigging or a radio mast over a yellow field incised with a grid. The paint is thickly loaded and stippled, with dry-brushed veils and sgraffito lines scored back through the crust. Medium: oil on canvas, heavy impasto with sgraffito. Signed on the dark green leaf form, lower centre. Condition: no visible issues; heavy paint intact.
