A colour reproduction of a Belle Epoque banquet scene: dozens of women in white lace gowns and wide hats seated at cloth-laid tables beneath strings of glowing lanterns, with a dark brick facade and heavy foliage behind. The palette is smoky and warm - deep browns and blacks for the setting against cream, rose and pale green dresses, with pink and red flowers heaped on the tablecloths. The image is float-mounted with a white border onto a large floral tapestry-effect fabric panel, so the picture appears as a small bright window inside a field of woven roses and leaves. Medium: colour reproduction print on paper. Signed lower right within the printed image. Condition: Heavy glass glare in all views; tapestry mount slightly toned; no tears, losses or foxing visible.
